How To Take Care of Your Tattoo

Proper care of your new tattoo is very important. Please follow these instructions and feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
Remove your bandage within 2 hours of getting your new tattoo - DO NOT REBANDAGE your tattoo. If it can't breathe, it can't heal.
Wash your tattoo as soon as you get home. Continue to wash it 1-3 times per day.
We recommend a mild LIQUID pump soap such as Dial, or Dr. Bronners baby soap (diluted). Stay away from harsh fragranced soap as it can irritate your fresh tattoo.
After washing, pat dry carefully with a paper towel. Cloth towels can harbor bacteria and leave fuzzy residue behind so avoid those.
For the first 2 days, apply a very very small amount of Aquaphor, and rub it in till it is a very thin, moisturized but breathable layer. Do this 2-3 times a day when your tattoo feels dry. If it doesn't feel dry, don't force-feed it ointment as you risk leaving the tattoo unable to breathe.
Remember to wash your hands before touching your tattoo and keep your tattoo clean.
On the 3rd day, switch to unscented lotion instead of Aquaphor.
Most brands of sensitive skin lotions work well, but we recommend Gold Bond Ultimate Healing.
NO POOLS, HOT TUBS, OCEANS, LAKES, OR ANY SUBMERSION IN WATER
for at least 2 weeks. Absolutely no tanning for at least 2 weeks. After your tattoo is healed, always wear sunscreen!
Constant sun will quickly destroy a beautiful tattoo, fading colors, yellowing whites, and blurring crisp lines.
